Shooting stars...

Just a few days ago, the night sky was lit up with shooting stars. It was a sight to behold seeing all those stars fall from their grace in a majestic fashion. To watch them as they brightened the world one last time; only to quickly leave this world in a flame of light. It was breath taking! I was so mesmerized by this that I chose this layout for my blog to try and capture a small essence of what I saw. =)

Shooting stars are also reminders for us to wish. Wish for those things that lie deep within our hearts that even those closest to us might not know. I am in the process of making some of those wishes in my heart come true. It has not been an easy road; in fact at times it's been quite treacherous; but I'm stubborn and it's going to take more than a few bumps in the road to knock me off course. But enough of my rambling, I'm back and so is this blog. I apologize for the LONG hiatus but sometimes life just prevents you from having the time to write. So stay tuned as next post will actually include stitching photos. *gasp* Yes, Stitch has actually been stitching! =D

Welcome back readers...stop and stay for a while. I don't plan on leaving again. Thanks for your patience and support.

More changes....

Greetings friends! More changes are occuring in my life; along with the weather. I will soon be moving to a place that is close to heaven on Earth as possible. It's just gorgeous!! I can't wait to live there and experience new things/surroundings/people. =) I'll have more time to get back to the things I love, my writing, my stitching, my sanity. Haha. My heart is guiding me there and it's just time to go and move on. So wish me luck as it's occuring at the end of this month. THen there is the search for a job which I have faith will happen soon. God willing plus this area is still calm from the economy wrath. Let's hope it stays that way. Happy Stitchin! *hugs*

Well friends, I've got so frustrated with uploading my backgrounds and customizing my blog; that this month I went cheap and got a prefab template. I defintely like the style though the top decoration is a bit garish. I will have to play with the features and spice it up a bit more somehow. Come now, for those that know me, I have to add my own touch to things. ;) Speaking of change, I have decided that 2009 is going to have that them. I recently began this process by updating my glasses and the frames for the first time in about 5 years for the glasses, 10 for the frames. I put them on and didn't even realize I had blue eyes! LOL Just goes to show that coke bottle glasses do tend to hide your eyes and God gave me blue ones to show off. =)

On the homefront, still working my tail off it seems. Work is starting to settle down but with the recent economy; we have taken some cuts. Mainly our bosses attitude has gone from bitter to just plain sour. She's doing things all wrong. She's after the ones that actually do their job and doesn't give a flying fart in space about those that don't. We have people that come to work and do nothing but yet I get ridden like a horse if I don't do something. And just for the record, I've done it she's just too lazy to actually look to see that I've done it. The transition is going to be major as a lot of my coworkers will be leaving this next month or so. I have to be honest, I haven't seen this much movement in a company ever. However, I'm only there myself till I get my ticket to freedom and it's coming soon! =)

On the stitching front, I've been plugging away at the solider piece. All that red is going to drive me bananas!! It's not the actual red color, it's the 15 different shade variations. It's a Stoney creek which to me is like chocolate on a diet. You know you shouldn't have them but they are so pretty and when you endulge you go overboard. Then later on realize, what the hell have I gotten myself into. It'll be stunning if I can ever get it finished. Then it's on to other various small projects and nametags for my coworkers. They were supposed to be Christmas gifts but well, nevermind. =X So that's what I've been up to...I do hope to post more often. I miss writing and blogging. Maybe I'll make a tape of myself saying you must stitch and blog then fall asleep to it. During sleep the mind is quite responsive, hey it could work. LOL

Big changes...

Big changes are coming to this blog. A new background and maybe even an actual post that's uplifting and full of cool pictures of things I've made! Of course this means I need to lock myself up in my room this weekend and hibernate with stitching in one hand, food nearby and a movie supply ready and waiting. Stay tuned for the changes...the "Holiday" bug is starting to nibble at me. =)

Life and the chaotic way it is...

Hello all my stitchy/bloggy friends! I'm still alive! Trying now to catch something with the recent temperature changes and close quarters at work but still hanging in there. I do have a sincere apology to make as I will not be able to complete the memorial project in time to present to the person in NOv. Due to lots of things, mainly the major one being having to restart the project due to a spill on the original piece, I just will not have time to stitch it. I could rush through it but the meaning behind this piece deserves to have the proper treatment and time dedicated to this project. Therefore, I will unfortunately not have it ready in time. I gravely apologize but do hope that you understand. I will, however, honor my promise of making this piece as I am not a woman whom backs down on her word. As per a suggestion, it might be able to be presented in March. I thank you for your patience and understanding and assure you it will be well worth the wait.

I will continue to stitch on it when I can and display progress pictures. I do have one to show however I am on a break at work, thus unable to display it. Speaking of that break at work, it is now over so I must bid thee adieu. Keep stitching!! Stay warm!

Short picture loaded post....

Hi everyone! So sorry that I haven't been very active on this blog lately but I have been stitching when I have some free time. Several projects in the works. The most important and time consuming is this memorial piece for a fallen soldier. This is what the finished picture will look like. Sadly, I can't post a progress picture yet as it's majority white right now and does not show clearly on the camera. =( But trust me ladies, it will be done and I am working on it! =)

The poem says: Freedom-- Cherish your freedom and guard it with honor and respect for it carries the blood of those who gave it to you.

Hopefully by the weekend I will be out of the white area and can post a picture with some COLOR!!!

Next project is for me and someone special =) Hehe...

It will say, two hearts one soul and will be a bookmark to go into a very special book. =)

So not much, but it's something...more to come....my birthday is friday so i'll have plenty of stitching time then!

I'm here...

Howdy do blogger friends! Does anyone still read this blog? LOL Probably not many as I seem to have been hibernating lately. I have been stitching, quite a bit actually but the sun has not shone here in ages, thus resulting in bad pictures. Hopefully, God willing we will get some soon so I can show off my "talent". ;) I've been trying my best to keep up with blogs, emails, writing actual snail mail letters (remember those?) but haven't been doing a very good job. I'm working FULL time now. 40hrs a week plus what I normally do which makes little time for me. I'll find some soon I'm sure or scream trying. LOL So do have a big project coming up that should bring more readers to my little area of the web. I'm doing a Fallen Solider project for a fallen solider here in my state. He has already had one done for him, but I know a friend of his mother's and long story short, I"m drafted again. It's going to be a beautiful piece if I don't say so myself. I'm hand dying the fabric a very pale blue. It's so pale right now that it doesn't even show up. (Haha translation the dye didn't take the first time so I must re-do it). So I'll be showing off pictures of progress etc as I work on it so that the other members of this soliders life can see it. =) I feel honored to have been drafted again. =)

Alright, I'm writing this on my break from work and sadly time has flown. So I bid thee adieu gentle readers and I shall be in touch again! Keep stitching and miss you all!

I'm still here....

Hey folks! I'm still here..just haven't had much time to do anything for myself lately. I"m about to jump to 40/hrs a week with work and still taking care of the things I need to...I'm trying not to get overwhelmed but it's quickly approaching. I really needed my vacation this summer but maybe I can escape for a weekend or something soon. Definitely when it gets cooler..good grief is it hot!!!! Anyway, I leave you with a few pictures...so enjoy!

This is going to be a bookmark that will be placed in a very special journal of mine! =) It is done using the DMC Variations ( the blue/green one) and the red is Garnet by WDW I think.

This is the beginnings of a piece that is going to a very dear friend of mine!! I can show it as there's not enough for her to figure it all out. I am using various varigated threads from Carrie's Threads. It is being stitched on Buttercup evenweave, I think is the name of it. Not sure. LOL

This will be a second attempt on a wedding piece I started for a friend of mine's friend. Long story..but it's done in peridot green and buttercup yellow on yellow 16ct Aida. It's most backstitch so it'll be easy to finish; then comes the beadwork on it though. =/

Lastly, a finish!!! Another one of my Celtic coasters! =)

Frustration anyone??

Ok, yes I know I have gone an entire month without writing but if you knew how things have been; you'd understand. First off, I have stitched and crafted quite a bit. I have lots of photos to show off but the cord to my laptop finally bit the dust. So now, I have to wait for the mail to bring me a new one which means I'm offline for a bit. =( Secondly, vacation I was going on, not happening. NO, I don't want to get into to it but I"ll still take the time off from work maybe and just do some things for me. I don't know yet. Honestly as sheepish as this sounds, I just need my friends and hugs right now. =/

Just call me.....

resident storm tracer. Egad!! What an incredible weekend if you are one of those crazy people that lives for twirly things from the sky! The only minor break from storms was Saturday and by then you were so tired staying up all night; you slept right through it. Or at least I did because I stay up to listen to the warnings/watches as I'm not a "seasoned" Midwesterner yet. Frankly, I don't think I ever will be as I hate twirly things. =P Moved to the wrong state, I hear you. Haha.

So this weekend was a bit productive as I got some mail that needed to be sent out. On the stitching front, nada but I have made a "business" decision to start selling my bracelets; like the ones I made for my friends. With everything going up which on a side note when a loaf of bread costs the SAME as a gallon of gas; something IS NOT right!! Anyway, as I was saying with everything going up; the extra cash will be a blessing provided I sell anything. I've asked several friends and they have said I could sell those bracelets easily, just don't cut the price too short as they are with genuine swavorski crystals/gems. So soon I will be popping up some prototypes on my etsy website and putting them in the craft cabinet at work. Wish me luck!

Well so far it appears to be a quiet night storm wise. Just some stats, 5 days over 150 tornadoes ALONE in my state!! Talk about someone being grumpy, Mother nature. However, with such a stormy terrible weekend we do have a beautiful week to look forward to of no storms. (Happy dance!!) And there is a positive element to having to run over to my friends house to hide in her basement; before the storm comes her hubby BBQs and MAN is it good!!!! I might pop up the next time the man does chicken! ;) Which reminds me I need to get some of his favorite cake mix and bake him a cake as a thank you because I'm sure he enjoyed having a panic-striken lady at his house for almost four nights! HAHA! ;)

So, that's a slight update. Oh yes, I'm actually working at work now. They moved me to corporate and I have been busy EVERY DAY! Hoorah!! So now that things are turning around a bit though I still don't like the storms, I might relax a bit and get some serious crafting/to do listing done! =) Wish me luck...

Hectic Week....

Well as you can see it's been quite a hectic time as of late. Between near scares of tornadoes, which by the way I did see the nasty cloud over the house. Not exactly a fun night that happened about three weeks ago but still I wish not to see anymore. Luckily the weather has been just breathtaking but now it's getting hot and sticky. Sadly, more storms are called for this upcoming weekend but hopefully they won't be terrible. Things have been going on in personal live about as torrid as a storm but thank God for the power and love of friends. One friend in particular, my sister (not blood sister), Lani.

She is a wonderful mother of a young one and a happy wife to great man. She is currently stationed over in Iraq, giving more of herself than I ever could. I swear I honestly admire the courage she has to go and face something like that with such resilence. I don't think I could do something like that. She's not in true harms way but it is a dangerous situation no matter where she is. Anyway, she has always had this keen sense of knowing when I need a pick me up and I got that pick me up just when I needed it most.

As some of you know, I live at the post office. Well not really but I do send a TON of mail. Surprise packages to friends, cards, letters, all kinds of things but only had a bag that advertised a cancer drug on it to carry the stuff in. Well believe it or not, people often asked me questions such as "when was I diagnosed etc?". I got tired of the questions as well just because I'm sporting something like that, doesn't necessarily mean I'm the one afflicted with it. So long story short, I was talking to Lani about it and she in the evil sister way that she is sometimes came up with the idea of making me a bag. Measurements were made, colors were chosen and I sat back wondering what my sis would create me. I could have never imagined what she did!

So she sent the package to me the week she left for Iraq and in all honesty I was expecting a smallish package because things had been tight. To my surprise, I had to go to the counter for a HUGE box! I was overwhelmed and so excited!! I opened it, ripping the layers of tape she had used as if I were a kid at Christmas and once the box was opened, I just sat back eyes shining. I pulled out the most beautiful bag I've ever seen!!! It was blue (my favorite color) and stuffed with goodies!! There was a ton of evenweave fabric, bottles of lotion from Bath and Body works, stickers, stationary, small bottles of the perfect shade of blue nail polish, two beautiful scrunchies she crocheted herself and she even fed my tummy with Almond M&Ms!!!! I was in heaven!!! Thank you SO much Sis!!! I share these pictures with my blogging friends but honestly they do not do this bag justice. And the greatest thing that the gift brings is the reminder of my favorite sister! I love you Lani!! =) God bring you home soon!!

Thank you sis for sharing a piece of your heart with me and know that you are in prayers as always! Hubby and your little dumplin too! =) Also, know that you never know when your mailman might come visit you! =) hehehehehe

Mother's Day....part one

Well as true Stitch style, I'm late with posting this entry as yesterday was Mother's Day but cut me some credit as it's not several months from then. Hehe. =) So with it being Mother's Day, I want to dedicate this entry to two incredible women, both mothers, that I know. Sara and Lani. Both are like sisters to me and just incredible people but I get more into that later.

First off yesterday, I spent the day spoiling Sara! I went over to her house and got her kids to clean their rooms and the house up. (Drill Sargent much) I exposed her to Quizno's Subs which she loved and made chocolate chocolate chip cupcakes. I told her not to move as it was her day off. Then I presented her with the sneaky part. I had come by earlier Saturday to get the kids to draw cards for her and her mother. (Grandma) You know me, I have to be sneaky and surprise somemone! =) Hehe. Anyway, we gave her the cards and then I gave her and her mother these bracelets that I had made. (The picture quality isn't that great- sorry)

First Sara's: Her Mother Bracelet that has her entire family on it with an angel charm that hangs down saying love. Each of the silver hearts has the first name initial of her kids, hubby and her. =) One big happy family!

Then her mother's is her Hope Bracelet. She has cancer so the bead color corresponds with the type of cancer she has and stands as a symbol of Hope.

Both deserving gifts! Sara is just an incredible woman raising five kids. She never seems tired and just keeps going like the energizer bunny. Her children truly know what a real mother is and that she loves them. She would do anything for them and it's because of her big heart. I love you Sara! =) You are a wonderful reminder of how mothers are supposed to be and deserve nothing but the absolute best in life!

Playing Ketch-up

Hello blogging friends! Tis a stormy day here in the Midwest. I have to admit I'm not used to waking up by thunderstorm. Nice passive beach sounds, a kiss from someone special, the smell of banana bread; fine things to wake up to, BOOM! no. Not to mention the pelting of hail against my window. Not fun. Tends to put a bad swing on the day. However, today it's just stormy. Thunderstorms rolling through pretty much all day. Thank God though no twirly things....the only thing I want to twirl around me is a piece of licorice around my finger. =P

On the personal front, I'm now a legal resident of this state as by spending all of an hour at the DMV and the Sherrif's office; I got my registration/title and license! I was shocked!! Back home that would have been an all day project. Pretty cool living in a smallish town. ;) I was done before lunch! Shocking! =) Also, the temporary job that I had taken is now over but I got a call yesterday offering me a more permanent position! This was followed by a small dance out in the parking lot of the courthouse to a much surprised audience. (A truck with two ladies in it) I don't know who was redder me, or her truck. HA!

On the stitching front, Nada. Well that's not exactly true but not enough to put up a progress picture. I'm hoping to change that soon. I've got movies to watch so maybe I'll park myself in front of the TV and have a movie/stitch a thon. All the chores are done for the week so why not? Anyone care to join me?? Hehe. However, stitching has been on my mind as now I have more wants. I found a YUMMY designer today by visiting a friend's blog: bad enabler. You must check her out! What is the most complicated piece you've ever completed?

Hmm, if I ever get Happy Everything done; it will definitely be that piece. Until then, none of the projects I have done have been extreme.

What items do you consider essential to your needlework that you keep
in your stitching bag?

Hmm, I don't really carry a stitching bag. However, thanks to my friend L, there would definitely have to be some Piecemaker needles in there. =)

When you stitch a pattern that you have downloaded do you print out
the pattern or do you stitch directly from your computer screen?

People actual stitch it in front of their computer? Wow. No offense to them but I have neither the patience, eye sight or butt strength to do that. Hehe. I always print them out and put them in a binder to keep.

Yawn.....oops.

*Yawn* Oh excuse me! I'm so tired right now it's not even funny. Just a small update as that's pretty much all my brain can handle now. Life update, I have a temporary job entering in data for the local paper here in town. I think this is my last week though but the pay is nice, better than nothing. Today, I finished the last, well hopefully, last part of my interview for a company in town. The last part was a doozy as it was an apptitude test of which I neither felt "apt" to do or had the "tude" to do. LOL =) Needless to say upon leaving work and then going to take that, my brain began to ooze out of my ears. Mental exhaustion anyone?? However, no rest for the weary as I had to tend to Lady Betty's needs. So, hopefully tomorrow afternoon after work I will feel more up to blogging and stitching, but right now my bed is calling me.

Mini Vacation and stuff....

Hello blogging friends! I finally broke away from this situation I'm in for at least 24hours to see my Stitchy Gramma! Of course, in true Stitch fashion, this happened last weekend and I'm just now writing about it. LOL Anyway, some background on Stitchy Gramma. Her name is Carolyn and she comes from a board that I belong to. She adopted me as her stitchy grand-daughter when we did an exchange together. Supposedly I sent her such a fun and extravagant package, (her words not mine) that she just had to get to know me better. Upon finding out that I was a mere 27 and she was in her well beyond 40s, she starting calling me her Grand-daughter. Hehe. The rest is history....

Anyway, she had to come home, as she lives in Aussie now with her new hubby Ross, to stay with her mother who was ill. I had found this out about a week or two ago and got very excited as well I live in her state now! Yay!! So we arranged it so that I could come up there to stay for an evening and she would pay for everything. *insert blush face* Believe it or not, it's very hard for me to accept people doing things like that for me. So after my trek across the US, driving the three hours to see her would be a piece of cake especially since I pass a Russell Stover's outlet on the way! Tee hee!

I left Saturday afternoon rather late due to an unexpected, "HELP! Please come take the kids for a while because I need to go do some things" *grumble*. I had scheduled myself to leave around 1pm so that I would arrive there around dinner time. Gramms had made pot roast and homemade mashed potatoes. You bet your life I was going to partake in that!!!! Hehe. Well after the "kid session", it was about 4 when I left so I didn't get there till about 7pm. =/ I arrived at her mom's house later than that as once again those stupid internet instructions led me astray. Pardon a minor rant, but do they actually research the towns to make sure that the roads ACTUALLY EXIST!?!?! Rant over...

So I was on my cell saying I had just arrived, getting my stuff out of the car only to realize that she was standing right next to my car. Eep! LOL We hugged and went inside to gab, meet Mom and of course EAT! So after dinner, Gramms pulls out a surprise. She had asked me what my favorite dessert was and I said yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Well, Gramms is diabetic so I wasn't sure if I would actually get that and didn't want her to make just a small cake for me but no, Gramms has to spoil me. She pulls out this cake that has chocolate frosting,yellow cake and then white cream in the center! OH heavens to betsy!!!! YUM! I sadly took my piece to go as I had to check in the hotel before 10 and it was getting late.

I was a true princess as Gramms set me up at this place called Hotel Josephine. A beautiful small inn that's nearly 200 years old! I had a quaint little room with a bed that was just heaven. Before we had left for the evening, Gramms had asked me to come with her to the "city" for some shopping and lunch. Once again she paying for everything...*insert another blush* As you can tell, I'm NOT used to being spoiled. But here is a picture of the room:

Sadly I was a bit too hyper from that cake to go to sleep right away, so I curled up in the bed and wrote a bit on my story finally crashing in bed about 1am.

Now you would think with me crashing into bed about 1am, I wouldn't wake up till about 10 right? NO! This girl, miss I am NOT a morning person, arose at 6am! *scratches head* So I went into the lobby in my PJs, they have clouds on them hehe, to partake in the small breakfast fare. Bagels, toast, eggs and sausage. Simple until you get to the end of the line to see this HUGE cinnamon rolls! YUM! More sugar...hehe.

After breakfast, I once again met up with Gramms and we went to the city for some shopping. She took me to The Sunflower Seed and I browsed. I was trying to be really good, honest. She had a few Needle Necessities threads there so I grabbed two that I really like. I miss that line of threads. When I started to pay, Gramms wouldn't have it. =/ She also told me to pick out a chart to go with those threads. Well I didn't pick out one that goes with them but I did pick up the new Stitchy Kitty Snowman Trio. I browsed a couple of other things and put them back down. Good girl right?? Well....so then we went to a lovely place called Jason's Deli for lunch and met her friend Robin. Did a little shopping too at Hobby Lobby and Joann's. Hehe *evil grin* I found the perfect backing fabric for a friend's project....

Soon it was time to say goodbye and that was hard as I don't know when I'll be in Aussie! LOL I came back home and unpacked only to find several things: extra money in my purse and those charts I put back in my package. Shame Gramms!!! =/ But all in all it was great fun!! I just feel a little guilty for being spoiled but no worries I have intentions of making it up. =) Oh yes, picture of new stash:

Hello blogging friends! Just a quick entry to let you know that tomorrow night I will add a few finishes to this blog and secondly tell you about my trip that I took last weekend to meet my stitchy Gramma! =) Includes new stash! Hehe...However, right now it's past midnight and I have to start my temp job tomorrow. Yes people I have a temp job. It's doing data entry for the local newspaper for a few weeks. 9-3pm Monday - Saturday. Not too bad. =) I'll take it as my bank account is mad at me. LOL Plus, I want to make another small order to Carrie's Threads for some yummies to start a few friend gifts! =) Requires that green stuff of which I don't have much right now. But anyhoo, I'm off to bed. Just wanted to check in.

Oh yes, and I will be bringing back my Punkymoods. =)

No No..it's not a typo..it's what I've been doing lately. Celtic knots and Kanji symbols. I finished one Celtic Knot and have three more to go, though I'm nearly done with a second one. Here is the finished one:

I'll take another picture or two tonight of what I'm working on next. Just want to put some more stitches in it so it actually looks like something. Haha.

Now, I got my RR back from my friend Lani in the mail last week. She also sent me a few yummies too! *Love ya sis!* Anyway, the theme was an RR to make into a pillow and knowing the crazy person that I am, I wanted to be different. I came across these Kanji symbols for the four seasons and after shouting Eureka at my computer and a few other choice words when the thing crashed, decided to do this as my theme. The rules were simple: stitch it in an overdyed thread that represents the season. I did Winter the one at the very top, (Blue/white). If I remember correctly it was a DMC Variegated one. Then came Fall, stitched by Lani (orange/red). On to Spring stitched by Patti (purple/pink) and finally Summer stitched by Lynne in Aus! They did a great job and I LOVE it!!! Now to put the yummy fabric on the back, add some flair and words..and viola..pillow!!! Thanks to my stitchers!! =)

So Happy St. Patricks Day!! It actually feels good to be posting STITCHING again on this blog! Haha! Enjoy!!

Oh My Gosh...could it really???

YES! You aren't seeing things..so stop rubbing your eyes. They are perfectly fine! Yes, that is a piece of stitching attached to my blog. Yes, I did actually STITCH that myself. It's one of four Celtic Knot coasters..just need to find the square coasters somewhere. Hobby Lobby here I come!! HEhe =)

Yes ladies and gents....the StitcherTiger (hehe) is back and stitching! Whoo hooo!! So whose bringing the chocolate to celebrate! =)

Oh details...done on 18ct white aida (I think) with Needle Necessites bright colored variegated thread that I can't remember the name of. *smile*

Anyone want this???

It's a cold! I don't want it ANYMORE!! I've had it for about a week now. The sniffly, sneezing, coughing kind of cold. Blah! I've been laid up in bed most of the time this week trying to keep away from my "patient". Oh yes, I haven't filled in my blog readers on that. Well basically, why am I here in this state is because one of my friends has five kids and a sick mother. Her mother had a stroke last October and needs someone to look after her. Guess who packed up everything she owns and came down here?? Me. It's been a struggle though as well getting acclimated to new surroundings, trying to take care of her and unfortunately her condition is getting worse. Then on top of everything getting sick, it's a good thing I get my hair cut tomorrow or else I'd pull it out. *sigh*

But I know all things work out somehow and somehow this trial too will make me stronger person....however honestly, blowing my nose all the time...how is that making me stronger??? Hmmmm.....LOL So not much stitching is being done..though lots of planning of projects. Better than nothing...

Hello from sunny and beautiful *insert Midwest state*! Wow! It's about 75 and sunny here today! Quite a change from back home where it's been snowing and such. We usually don't have days like this back in Virginia till around April, evidently things here are different. However, I hope I'll still be praising the weather come storm season. *eek*

Anyway, I gave in! Gave in to the power of wanting some new stash eventhough I have TONS! Nothing major, just a small order of yummy threads from Carries Threads. Yummy colors to do some Celtic Knot coasters, pictures, (not sure what they are going to be yet). LOL So guess what that means, pictures coming soon! Yes, you are actually reading that right, some stitching pictures will be on here soon! Shocking I know! LOL Especially if you knew that I already started one Celtic Knot ;) Hehehe...

Wow.......

That about sums up my ability to express myself right now in a simple "Wow". In less than a week, I will be trekking across country to my new home, new family and new life. IT's quite humbling. Packing is a chore and there is honestly no way I can take everything so I'm leaving stuff behind with the notion of if I see it again, cool, if not, oh well. I've got the important stuff. My clothes/shoes, my stuffed animals, my books and of course my stash!! Though I am realizing I will need to have a MAJOR sale once I get to my new home as my tastes have changed quite a bit. Speaking of tastes, I want to order the new Stitchy Kitty Patterns to have a stash package waiting for me at my new address when I get there but I"m trying to fight that urge. LOLOL =P It's hard though.

Yesterday was a bit of a rough day as I had to say goodbye to one of my good friends. We got together for lunch and had a blast but there was a heaviness as we realized this would be the last time we see each other for a while. I have another one of those meetings Tuesday night. So today is going to consist of running out to set up my Triple A account though it's pouring outside and I want to do is curl up with some soup and sleep. LOLOLOL Maybe one day off wouldn't hurt??? Hmmm....anyway after that it's a trip to the post office to mail off a few things (although that might wait till tomorrow as well I havent gotten everything together yet). Of course, there will be more packing too. Fun fun.....=P I wish I could be Harry Potter in that department and just "wand" everything in boxes and transport it there by magic but sadly this is the real world, I think. Hehe...

Stress anyone??

Wow, my stress level is about beyond the scale right now. Between packing, sorting through my life in boxes, trying to decide what to take and what to give away, dealing with an ex who is NOT being supportive at all and saying goodbye to friends; I think I might snap here soon. I'm so overwhelmed with emotions that I predict diving into some serious ice cream here in the next few days. I've never done anything like this. Never driven out of state, let alone four of them, on my own. I worry I'll get lost or something will go wrong with the car or...I don't know. I'm so excited as this truly is a new beginning for me but I'm also terrified as the unknowns. New town, new state, new part of the US I've never been too. I know I can do this but its just hard. This really is going to be a true challenge of what I can do for myself. I'll take any and all the support I can get.

New Year Confessions and Ramblings....

Wow! Can you honestly believe it's a new year??? A whole new 366 days (It's a Leap Year) to make anything you want to out of them. Amazing. Not only that, but this year is the year I turn 30. I've been on this Earth for 30 years! I can't even begin to fathom that. Wonder what I'll feel like around 40? Not ready for that milestone yet, no offense to the 40somethings out there. ;)

So, I'm sure you as my loyal readers have noticed that I have gone from posting every day to barely hitting this once a month. The lovely pictures of my creations gone, no updates, I'm sure you are experiencing withdrawals well it's time to tell you why I've buried myself deep away from this blog. I'm finally ready to do it.

Ok, on December 15, 2006 I broke up with my boyfriend of nearly 8 years. Ever since I got sick a few years back, I've just had this sense of empowerment and wanting more out of my life which sadly did not include him. Upon breaking up with him, I spent several months looking for a job and dealing with the rejection notices. I take things personally, always have. It's one of my flaws. Anyway, I finally found one in July of 2007 and have been working diligently since then. I've had to deal with a few other stresses since then but I don't want to be a complete open book.

Now comes from the shocker, most of my life I have done nothing for myself. I have always done for other people mainly due to the past I led as a child but that's another novel. So, I am taking a huge chance and for once in my life doing something for myself. By the end of this month, I will be leaving this state, my home since I was 15 and moving out west to Kansas. A dear friend of mine has a sick mother and five children and well you get the idea. I'm not only going out there to help her but to help myself achieve all the things that i've wanted to. I'm definitely not getting any younger and now is as good as a time as any. So I'm now going through things, packing, trying not to let fear keep me from this..so needless to say things are just wow right now.

I hope to get back to the things I love here soon. Writing, (maybe one day you'll read my stories) stitching and all that. So I apologize for the lapse of activity but I do hope that will change once I get to my new home. =) Thank you as always for your support and love. It truly has helped me pave this way for myself.

IT can't be me sitting here actually writing this blog! *gasp* It can't really be my last day of 28 tomorrow only to turn 29 on Wednesday. It can't be true that I haven't stitched on anything since this spring and that I tried to acquire some new yummy threads this weekend to get me back in the "mood" and couldn't find any. =P It can't be true. None of this can. It's all a dream right??? *sigh*

How a long for a sense of normalcy again. To be able to stitch, read, write or do something without having my mind be full of worries and such.

It is with regret...

It is with regret my dear stitching friends that I inform you that I have to shut this blog down for a while. I am unable to stitch due to the immense chaos that has occured in my life recently nor have the heart to because of such chaos. I do not wish to go into it as frankly I am not the type of person that airs her dirty laundry in front of others. I never have been. It takes a lot for me to talk to someone about my issues as I'm usually the type of person that sits there and listens to others issues instead. It was how I grew up...and I'm sorry if it's not comforting to you.

Good grief! A Month????

Has it really been a month since I've written in my blog??? Eesh..that's just terrible. You would think it's been due to me being so busy I don't know whether I"m coming or going but sadly no. It's been due to not much to say. LOL This is a stitching blog too so it doesn't get updated when I don't stitch. :( However, that will change as I have been stitching quite a lot lately just need to release the pictures from the prison that is known as my digital camera. ;)

Hades hath frozen over!! PLEASE READ EVERYONE!

I stitched!! Yes, you read the correctly! No need to rub your eyes and blink them incessantly, I did stitch this afternoon. For about an hour as I got one of my two RR packages yesterday. The one I got yesterday is the Bookmark RR I have joined and since the theme was pretty simple, I went ahead and started. :) YAY! The other RR is a pillow RR with four ladies where the end result will garner each one of us a pillow. The mail date was today but as per usual I'm running late due to a last minute change of idea. :/ The ladies though all understand and are giving me a bit of extra time. *mwha*

Oh yes my theme for the Bookmark RR is celestial as I will be sending the finished bookmarks to the St. Jude's Bookmark program. The one I worked on today was children's themed as the lady wishes to give it to her son. :) I'll show a picture later of what I chose. It felt good to stitch though. :)

Now on to more SERIOUS matters, I realize that I am extremely behind on PIFs, IOUs and various other items. I had wished for my PIFs to be completely finished by now but obviously that didn't happen. I just want to take this time to ensure each and every one of you I WILL COME THROUGH! I have been burned many many times in my exchange/PIF history and would not wish that feeling upon anyone so I will NOT under any circumstances do that to you. I can not apologize enough that I am so far behind and keeping you waiting on your items. :( I do feel terrible about that. But I just want to assure you, and those that know me personally can vouch for me, I WILL come through!! It's just taking longer than I expected....and I also know that you will love your gifts...well I don't know that..but I hope for it! :)

Hangs head in shame

Hi blogging friends! I'm sure you think I've all but abandoned this blog and my stitchy friends. Fear not, I haven't...just been unable to post anything. Life has been very busy..coupled with I haven't really stitched in a long time...equals time away from the blog. I have kept each of you in my thoughts though, so does that count for something? ;) Hehe....

I'm not sure why I'm in such a stitching slump! I have so many PIFs and IOUs to complete...but every time I sit aside some time to stitch....I do something else. Read, write, bead; basically anything but stitch. I miss my hobby but I think I've really burnt myself out somehow. :( Even new stash doesn't appeal to me..which is TERRIFYING! LOLOL Though I do see some yummy threads on some of your blogs! :) I'm sure I'll work out of it soon. I still want to start Crane Paradise and a few other projects. I'm just in shock that nearly half of the year is already over. *insert open mouth wide-eyed face*

Still looking on the job front...hoping I can land something soon. People just don't call you anymore to tell you either way..."no thanks" or "we'd like to schedule an interview". Bah! :P Doesn't do much for the soul....But I digress.

Shifting focus for a moment....

Hi everyone! I just wanted to shift focus for a moment away from stitching to share this poem I wrote. I wrote this poem while looking at a candle that I had lit in honor of the VT family. (VT - Virginia Tech) I don't normally share my writing at all but something told me to share this one. I hope you enjoy it.

I'll just say this..it's a shame I even had to write it. :(

As I sit here and watch
this flame rise from its wick.
It reminds me of the flames that once burned in your eyes
and how they were extinguished so quick.

Just like the flame dances on the wall
a fluttering motion; quick and fleeting.
And how it must have been like that in that hall
watching those you called your own fall.

To have such a strong presence
just as this flame lights the room
To know that each one of your faces
were far too young and never allowed to bloom.

So I light this candle in honor of you
the strong, the weak, the bold, and the brave
You professors, students and loved ones
taken too soon to your grave.

May your memory stand with us all
not just because of this day.
But due to the love, happiness and strength
you brought in each of your own special ways.

Hi everyone! Hope this finds you well! I got an early Easter present...SNOW! That's right..SNOW! Woke up this morning to a lovely dusting of white stuff coating all the trees and flowers. It was actually quite beautiful just a bit odd to see Dogwoods covered in snow. LOL It is supposed to be cold for the next few days and then warm up again. I'm am sure everyone that has bought a new Easter outfit is quite upset at the idea of having to crush their sundresses with heavy coats. LOL

Hi everyone! I'll get back into using my Punkymoods here soon as I know you all miss them. I just haven't had the time to really sit down and write much lately. Busy..busy busy. Good gracious!!! It's the seventh of March already! What happened to February??? *smacks forehead* Jeepers, I haven't updated in that long. Yikes! Let's see what's been going on with me. Not much honestly, I'm still working to become one of the productive members of society by acquiring a job. I'm just waiting on the interview phone calls. So keep your fingers crossed. Hehe...

On the stitching front, I have made some more progress on the rose piece but the batteries have died in my camera AGAIN! :P So when I replace them, I will post some pictures. Other than that...there's not much going on down here.

Maybe I'll have some more next time..but I did want to let everyone know that they haven't carried me off to the loony bin yet. LOLOL

I have pictures!!!

Howdy do blogging world! Hope everyone is doing well..staying warm and dry. It has finally gotten warm here but like the snow that is melting; it appears it will be fleeting. They are calling from some sleety stuff this weekend but should rebound back to warmer temperatures. :) I know the heat bill will be grateful. LOL

Now...someone that reads this blog is a Saint!! This person must have read my complaint of how my stash of fabric was getting quite low. Who would of thought that?? Upon opening up yesterday's snail mail, I got a package FULL of fabric!!! I do mean FULL! Here is a picture of all the pretty colors....YUM!!! She's a sneaky one..but I love her anyway! LOLOL THANK YOU!!! :)

All these pretty colors and yummy fabrics inspired me to get busy with my needle again. I have been suffering quite badly from If I see another Cross Stitch project due to Christmas...I will seriously scream syndrome! But I did manage to stitch this which will be the front of a needle book and start this other piece. It will be a small pillow and has WAY too much black!!! OY!! Cross eyed much???

It came from a UK magazine as they were motifs in Art Deco. The threads are all Carrie's threads except for the black. It's hard to see but those are actually small pink beads. I know..I know more pink but it's for an exchange. ;)

This will be very similar to the rose above however it will have the initials of the person it's for and a bit bigger scale. :)

So that's pretty much all from my neck of the woods....next post hopefully I'll have a better update of the second piece. Have a good one!

Is that PINK I see???

Hello blogging friends! Yes it is true. I the one girl in the world it appears who loathes pink is using it for her blog. Now let me explain please. My favorite color is blue and I adore Chinese themes. I spent much of the past few days searching for Chinese themed blog backgrounds only to come up short handed. Once I learn how to master the art of making a seamless tile, this will change. However, I did come across this lovely Chinese Cherry Blossom pattern and despite it's wretched PINK...into my background folder it went. If I had my choice though, it would be a pale blue cherry blossom background..LOL but I digress. So my friends...it is pink. :P It is growing on me though.

Update on the PIF situation: I have heard from all members except for Angela..and I'm unable to reach her. So I will press forward with the ones I do have and hope that Angela will contact me soon. *waves...Yoo hoo????*

Now for my funny idiotic moment of the day. I got up this morning and came online to see a friend of mine on there. We started chatting as usual about life, our plans for the day, etc. So I began to tell her how I had to run to the post office and do a few things. I needed to send out a few packages, etc. I'm sure had I been in the room with her she would have been snickering as her next comment to me was : It's a holiday! I understand how people can often forget the days or the month. You get busy with other things, time slips by, I get it. Here's the clincher...I have THREE calenders staring me in the face everyday. My mini Garfield one on the fridge for that first morning laugh while muttering there is nothing to eat. The Puppy/Kitty one on the wall for that quick Awwwwww as you race out the door. Finally, the Almanac calender with the moon phases, weather predictions, where you pains are going to be..that sort of thing. I also own two planners...one that is blank and I draw pretty pictures in for the days..etc and my Procrastinator's Planner. Five means of finding out that today is a holiday...and I managed to miss them all. *smacks head* As Bill Engvall would say, Here's your sign!

So my readers, don't forget to actually look at your calenders once in a while because if you don't..and your friend is not online to stop you...you could trek out in the cold, fight traffic and arrive at a PO that is closed due to President's day. Not a good way to start off a week....:p

Sharing some long overdue pictures....

Hi everyone! It appears that blogger is being a bit of a snot and not allowing me to upload pics. :P SO, little does it realize that I do have alternative methods of showing off my stuff. Lani'sOrnament

This is the ornie I made for my dear friend Lani while she was overseas. It is a Val's Stuff pattern and of course I added my own pizzaz to it with the Snowflake buttons. It's finished in a puffy semi-pillow.

SanManExchange

This is the ornie I made for the SanManOriginals Exchange. My partner was Kelly and she adored Santas. Cute ones though. LOL So I made this very traditional pattern cute by adding on the little fuzzy red noses. :) It is finished in a semi-pinkeep method.

LASExchange

This is the ornie I made for the LASOrnieExchange. Enough exchanges, Ash? LOL It was for my partner Mary whom liked traditional Santas. Well for those that know me, I always like to spice things up a bit so I stitched this Santa Crescent moon. :) He's finished in a pillow with red gingham fabric on the back. Oy vey! Could it get any colder?? I'm sure it could and frankly I don't want to complain to much or Mother Nature might give me something to complain about. LOL It's been quite cold so I haven't been doing much of anything except burying myself under blankets and doing some computer work. No stitching. :( I am in the process of organizing several projects to start including some IOUs and gifts. :) Yay! I desperately need to hit a fabric shop though. My Aida fabric is quite sad right now. It appears I've stitched too much at Christmas and am running QUITE low. LOL

Howdy bloggers! Remember me?? LOL I want to know something. Who left the freezer door open in heaven again?? It is absolutely FREEZING! They are calling for some snow and sleet tomorrow which should make for a fun commute. Luckily, I don't have to go anywhere and neither does T. So we'll be huddled up in the house, staying warm and doing our various things. :)

Maybe tomorrow will be the day that I pull out the stitching needle again. Of course I am looking for a pattern to start that I've put somewhere and can't find now!!! Curses!!! I hate it when that happen. However, it's my fault because when I placed it in its spot, I said the dreadful phrase " I won't lose it now". *smacks forehead* That is a 100 percent guarantee that I WON"T find it now! LOL Ever notice how that happens???

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi. Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm. :) Have some hot cocoa and some stitching time.

What's this??? Am I actually typing online from a place other than a Wi-Fi station!!! Yes...my gosh it is! LOL I'm back online my friends. Everything was finally hooked up yesterday! YAY!! So I am now diving deep into the messages I've missed while being away. It's sort of odd as I'm excited to be back online but sort of feel like a stranger again. It appears so much has gone on while I was away, not that I was expecting the world to cease..LOL It's just hard to jump right in...hmm...I'm sure I'll get over it.

Update on net situation...

Hi blogging friends! I have a little access to the net today so I thought I'd update you all on the progress. It's not good. It appears that "they", meaning the ISP, are waiting on a part that is to be delivered from Kansas City, Mo on a snail. I say snail as they have now said that it will take THREE WEEKS to be up and running! *Insert many expletives* So we are going to try to find an interim solution which means it'll be a sporadic month on posting. Sorry :( I'm just as upset as you all are.

Moving...no not houses...

ISP servers! YAY! We have finally told our current cable internet provider to kiss our *bumpers* and are going with a new more reliable and better company. However, the process of transformation will take up to a week. SO my blogging friends that means you won't see my pretty little face for a week. I SHOULD be back before the New Years..but will miss Christmas. So, to all of my readers..I wish you the most happiest and healthiest Christmas. Howdy do blogging world! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm doing ok. I hate the USPS right now. It's making me look like a terrible exchanger. I have joined three, SanMan, LAS and SBEBB ornie exchanges. The SanMan saga: sent out one package on time, ornie got eaten by the mail...now sending out the second package. LAS saga: same as SanMan only this is the THIRD one because the second one has yet to arrive and I"m getting fussed at. SBEBB: first one went MIA or something..I don't even remember now...so the second one is gone out..yet I missed the overseas deadline to get it there by Christmas. I feel awful!!! I have never had so much problem with exchanges..usually I'm the one that doesn't get anything. Now I"m the one doing that..or at least that's what it feels like. I do my damnedest to get exchanges out on time..and make them worthwhile. Even if life gets in the way, I'll still render a night sleepless to get things out. I just don't won't to be labeled a bad exchanger because I'm not. :( *sigh*

Secondly, to the following people your Christmas packages will be delayed. With me having to spend all this extra time and money to get this exchanges out, I haven't quite finished with yours. :( I'm sorry. Jenna, Lili, Outi, Jo and a few others I can't think of at the moment. I do hope you know I will send them out to you. Life has just been hell the past two months. I do hope you understand....and I feel awful about it. I'm so sorry to those that are expecting from me. I know I let you down..and will be perfectly ok if you never let me join an exchange again. I would hope my friends could vouch for me that I do come through eventually. Just as I said, sometimes things happen with which we have no control over.

Off to go stitch...it's my therapy these days. Cheaper than a shrink..in some instances.

Mail Call! :)

Howdy do blogging world! Hope everyone is well. It's gotten warm here again. Doesn't make sense, one week it's freezing cold and the next it's back up to the 60s. *sigh* Go figure. But it's been an ok few days. I finally finished and mailed my package to L. YAY! That's a HUGE relief, hence the punkymood. I just will feel even better when it's in her hands. :) So please pray to the mail Angels that it gets there in one piece and soon! Hehe.

Other than that, I'm still working on Christmas ornaments. Yes, I know only a few more weeks! I'll get them done. I do my best work under massive pressure..hehe. So today is show what I got in the mail day. Enjoy!

It was for the Christmas ornament exchange I joined! I can't believe I actually joined THREE this year! LOL Mad woman that I am. Anyway, she sent me a lovely snowman ornament and some fun stash. Some beautiful blue DMC Fabric and of course an awesome UK mag that not only featured a Tigger design, but a Margaret Sherry design too! YAY!! I hope to sit down and look through the mag tonight! THANKS so much Andrea!!! :)

She sent me a surprise with specific instructions to not open till Christmas! Since I'm such a good girl, I'm doing just that and have hidden the package somewhere so I won't be eaten up with anticipation. LOL I just hope I can remember where I put it come Christmas day! LOL

Oh also got a few Christmas cards from some online friends and am happy to report about 80 percent of mine are out. I need to finish those up. I took a break as I couldn't think of more things to say. LOL

Howdy do blogging world! Hope everyone is doing well! :) Now first let me apologize for my choice of words in my last entry and my creating quite a sense of worry amongst my friends. I am doing fine..just had to go through a rough patch there. It's not as rough but as my mood illustrates, I'm growing. :) We all go through trials in life and it's up to us to make sure that during the time we either put out a positive light or a negative light. I'm choosing the positive but in order for me to achieve that, I had to take a few days of reflection, so I do hope you understand. I'm doing well now..:)

Howdy do blogging world! I'm still here...just feeling very withdrawn lately. I've been dealing with some stuff and secretly would like to crawl in a hole and disappear for a while. Some of my blogging friends know what's going on so I won't broadcast it on here. It's not the place to and I'm still in the process of dealing with it myself. Maybe one day I'll share...

Still stitching...just haven't been posting much. I've got pictures to share but probably won't blow out the image load until the end. Just want to make sure I get all out in time for Christmas! *Sigh* Snuck up on me!

Hi blogging world! Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving..well those that were celebrating it. LOL T and I had a nice one. Just a quiet evening at home with some chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. I had gravy on my potatoes. Yum! :) We didn't really feel like doing the "turkey" thing as we eat turkey all the time anyway. LOL So a quiet supper and an evening of watching the football games. Hehe..

Friday we braved the non existent crowds for Black Friday Wal Mart shopping! I know..I hear your gasps and the vision of your eyes widening, but I no choice as I need a few things. However, we were smart in that we waited till about 4:30pm to go out. Otherwise, I would have needed a strong tranquilizer for both T and myself once dealing with those shoppers early in the morning!! But surprisingly, Wal Mart was very empty which was a pleasant surprise. We were out in about an hour..world record office here I come! LOL

But as I promised some PICTURES!!! Hooray!! Yes...they are actual ornaments..minus the beads. I have to get those later on today..being it's Saturday. I'll pop out to the store once again to get some beads and some Christmas cards..er..Holiday cards. I do have other ones done, it's just they claim to need more light to get better pictures of themselves. Bah humbug..I hate working with prima donna ornies! LOLOL No, I promise..I haven't been dipping in the egg nog..**grin**. On to the show:

I guess we'll have to find a new place...so a moment of silence as another Brick and Mortar goes under. :(

Lost and Found???

Hi blogging world! Hope everyone is doing well. Anybody been searching for me in the lost and found recently? Anyone noticed that I haven't been on a computer for nearly 1 and 1/2 weeks?? LOL I'm here..no worries. :) Just decided that the only way to get some ornaments done was to dicipline myself from the computer. COmputer time..equals negative stitching time. Howdy do blogging world! Just to let you know, I'm in the process of switching over to the new Blogger, so if you see anything wonky going on with my blog, just be patient. :) Yes, wonky is a technical term. Hehe..

Anyhoo, it's been a couple of rainy days here in my little part of the world. Good days for stitching though the temperature changes are playing havoc with me. Bah! One day it's in the 30s with the heaters blaring, the next day it's in the 70s. Mother nature must be having her pre winter moodswing! LOL Tonight was the weekly pilgrimage to the Post Office to check my mail and the grocery store. Christmas stuff is up EVERYWHERE now!! Skip Thanksgiving...straight to Christmas....whoosh! LOL

Picture day will come tomorrow...yes I have an ORNAMENT finished!!!! Please check your weather forecasts for SNOW! LOL Now on to the SBQ:

How many different brands of “complete” embroidery floss sets do you own? How do you keep track of it? (i.e., spread sheet program, index cards, palm pilot, etc.)

Ok..I have DMC, SSS, Carrie's Threads, Anchor, Needle Necessities and a few WDW. I do not own an entire collection of any threads...working on it. LOL As far as organization, they are in those plastic boxes wrapped on bobbins. However, I also have a huge bag of those waiting to find their home on a bobbin. Wrapping floss is just so monotonous! Blah! I need to print out the check lists and go through them all so I know which ones I need....maybe that's a project for the New Year. Hehe..

Did someone say BIRTHDAY?!

Howdy do blogging friends! Hope everyone is staying warm and happy! It's COLD here! Though I have yet to have the need for hot cocoa, however, I'm sure that's coming soon. I am dressing like a polar bear. Sweatshirt, sweatpants, thick socks and have three blankets on the bed. LOL Anyhoo, I promised I'd share the goodies I got for my birthday so here you go! Enjoy! Descriptions are under each picture...THANK YOU TO ALL of my friends who made my birthday so special! :) I love each and every one of you! :D Now let the fun begin:

A surprise from my new friend Karen. She doesn't have a blog but she's on a message board I belong to. She stitched a lovely Red Poppy bookmark and placed it on a card. Also gave me some DMC Variations, a lovely handmade scissors fob and two cute stitchy kits. Whoo hoo!! :) THANKS KAREN!!

This lovely package came from my friend Lani. She is a very dear friend of mine whom I miss terribly!!! The ironic thing is she actually sent the package on the day of my birthday! Hehe :) She crocheted me some new scrunchies! YAY!! THANKS LANI! *HUGS*

My lovely stitch-in partner Robin gave me this package. She lives only about 20 minutes away and we stitch together once a month at the local LNS. She hand stamped two sets of notecards for me. Funny story as I was talking about the last time we were together how I needed to run and get some blank notecards for Thank You notes and such. ;) She also included a cute little pattern complete with the threads! YAY! THANKS ROBIN!!

Finally we have my two Sissies!! They were the ones I visited this summer at the beach! HEhehe...No, they aren't my real sissies as I'm an only child. ;) Big Sissie sent me the pattern and Little Sissie sent me the cute mitten buttons. They know how much I love mittens!! Strange, I know. :) For your info, I'm Baby Sissie. ;) THANKS SISSIES WUV YU!!

Oops! Forgot one thing! This is the lovely needle roll that my Birthday exchange partner made for me! She included a floss holder and a couple of other things in the package. :) It was through a board I belong to. THANKS ANN-MARIE!!

Ok..I think I got everything! LOL I've got to take a picture of the scissors Jenna gave me too! They are such a lovely shade of blue! She knows me quite well ;) HEhe...So I'll be busy with Christmas ornaments and thank you notes. If you don't see me in a few days, I'm buried under a pile of note cards, stickers, kitted up Christmas ornaments and blankets since it's cold. Just leave a Kit Kat out and if it disappears, you know I'm still around! LOL

First full day of 28......and being Tagged!

Howdy do blogging friends! First, let me thank you all for the Happy Birthday wishes! They were greatly appreciated and I hope you took the time to have a little celebration of your own. Not much, maybe just treated yourself to an ice cream cone or something. Hehe...Since I couldn't fly every one of you to my house for a giant Stitching Party...it's the best way you could have celebrated with me. :)

I had a very nice day!! T went off to work as he was going to take the day off, but because the rain was coming down in buckets, we held off on our "day". No biggie. I stayed at home and stitched! Whoo hoo!! Worked on a birthday present for a dear friend of mine. I know I know..I hear you all shouting, "WAIT! Stitch..it's YOUR birthday and you are working on something for someone else?!?!?! Have you NO stash for yourself?!" LOL Yes I do...but her birthday is VERY close to mine and I had to do it. Thank goodness it's a quickie design that I should finish up tonight....

Doesn't seem like much stitching I know..and no I don't stitch that slow. LOL It's just stitching was interspersed with baking Carrot Cake cupcakes, making mix for sloppy joes, and other things. Last day of 27......

Howdy do blogging friends! Well today is my last offical day of being 27. *sniff sniff* Tomorrow I will be 28 and in the midst of a wonderful rainy day of stitching. Hehe..:) So how did I spend my last day of 27?? Simple, I finished up a few things. I completely finished this wall hanging for a long overdue present.

I also worked on a the Santa Moon which I'm almost done with. Yay! :) Picture will come soon. Other than that, it was just a lazy day. Hehe...tomorrow will be my day! I don't know what I'm going to do yet, probably some stitching will be somewhere amidst the day. I'll also review my Birthday Goals. I write down five goals on my birthday to aim to have completed by next birthday. It is always an eye opening experience. :)

But anyhoo, I'm off to sleep now...and wake up a year older...and a year wiser. :)

A Stitchin' I Will Do.....

Long time no see blogging friends. LOL I'm still here...just busy stitching on Christmas ornaments. I have to limit my computer time somehow or else I'll have to send little packages of fluff with a note that says, " I'm sorry. You would have a Christmas ornament in this package but I couldn't strip myself away from the computer". Not really a nice sentiment. LOL However, I do still try to make somewhat of an effort to read my friend's blogs just so I don't have the police knocking on my door wondering if I'm still alive. LOL

Today was a good day! I had my monthly stitch-in with my friend R at the local LNS. She was working on a Christmas ornament from Lizzie Kate in the JCS 2003 issue and I started the other half of the Quaker Heart. I didn't actually get much stitching in as I was telling her all the city adventures and such. She said she had a birthday present for me which half was back at her house and the other half wasn't there yet. So she thought about giving me the half she had, but realized it wouldn't make much sense without the other. LOL I was just happy enough to be special to her to have something specially ordered for me. *big grin* So eventhough my birthday is Tuesday, she said I could celebrate when her package comes too. LOL

I came home and started a Christmas ornament. It's a freebie from Heartstrings and is a Santa Moon. Of course, for those that know me, the threads are completely different from what the pattern suggests and I will add my own "flair" towards the end. Hehehe..it's for an exchange I"m in. Plus I dyed some fabric today a certain color for a Mail Art envelope I have to do..but can't say the color or pattern as she comes on here. Hehe....

Now as to why my mood is StarStruck is because last night I went to the Online Needlework Show and have found many new designers that I like!! So many pretties...but I have not won the lottery yet. :P LOL The one "splurge" I'm having for my birthday for myself is I put in an order for one pattern which of course I'm stitching for someone else. LOL Not much of a splurge....though I'll end up stitching the pattern for me too. I don't know what T has planned yet...but I do know one of my birthday wishes is I'd LOVE to get some more threads from Carrie's Threads. Such pretty colors....*drool* Hehehe....We'll see.

So that's what I've been up to. It's now COLD here and the leaves are starting to change. I'm thinking of going up to the mountains to view the colors..so I'll take pictures to share with my blogging friends. I'll also post pictures of the ornament and such....just be patient with me. :)

The Big City and IOU's....

Howdy do blogging world! Since it's a cold and rainy day, I thought I'd share some sunshine about my past few days. :) Let's see...hmmm..now what went on the past few days??? *the thinker position* Ah yes!! I went to the big city to meet my Stitchy Gramma! Hooray!!! The Big city was Washington, D.C. and was an eye opener to say the least. I got a glimpse of just how long I had been a country girl eventhough I grew up in big cities. LOL It was a bit embarassing, especially the part when I blurted out loud, "What is open after 8pm???" *blushes* It's funny how comfortable to your own area you can get. LOL But anyhoo, on to Gramma. We went for lunch with her new hubby at a place called Trio. It believe it's on 17th street...the 1700 block..but don't quote me on that. It was pretty good, I got the Cobb Salad but didn't eat much of it. I suppose their definition of Cobb Salad is quite different from mine. Gramma had the Veal Parmasean and I don't remember what Ross had except that it had French fries because Gramma kept stealing them. LOL It was a lovely visit..though I did most of the talking....Gramma is like that. :) It was just so wonderful to meet them finally and her hubby is a sweetie! They truly at the tender age of 40somethings are so in love like kids. Hehe...it's refreshing to see another lovely couple work. :)

After lunch, we went back to the lobby of the hotel they were staying at. I set them free and told them to go to the National Mall to go museum hopping. So we departed...but not before taking a few pictures. :) I look horrible in them all!! :P I'm not photogenic at all...bah! But it was a lovely visit..we only wish we could have found a Stitchy store..LOL

Other than that, since I've been back home..I've been playing who do I owe and what. I have gotten behind on my mailings of contest prizes, IOUs, wish list items..etc. So I'm desperately trying to get caught up and I'm almost there. Yesterday was fob day! I had my bead boxes all over the bed making fobs..here is a picture of a few I made:

Just a small description: One is blue/lime green with a ivory tassel and a four leaf clover charm. One is red/yellow with a black tassel and a lady bug charm. The last one is red/green with a red tassel and a snowman charm. I still have one more to make but the color scheme hasn't popped into my head yet. :)

Nothing much on the stitching front...just a few more initial magnets. I desperately need to get started on some of my Christmas ornaments here soon..or else they'll be for next Christmas! LOL At least everyone's is all planned..so that's better that I usually do. LOL I used to not have them planned till the end of October...;) Oh yes and I'm redoing a Binky Square! Would you believe that the thing was completely stitched and something nagged at me to check the requirements again to which I found out that it needed to be on WHITE and I used IVORY!!!! Gasp!!! Thank goodness though it was an easy Binky Square! If I had been one of the Stoney Creek ones, you would have heard me scream wherever you stand right now. LOL

Ok..well I'm off to go stitch..have a few more initial magnets to make..and a few more IOUs to send out. Thanks to those that have been waiting patiently for something from me...:)

Howdy do blogging world! Whoo hooo! I'm so excited!! Why, you may ask. Well, I have FINALLY obtained a copy of the JCS Ornie Issue 2006!! YAY! I have to say that this issue is pretty good....there are several ornies I'd do for myself. LOL Since I never seem to stitch for myself, that's saying something. But Stitch, it's just a magazine issue, no need to jump up and down for that, right?

There's more!! Tomorrow I'm going with T to visit a friend of his and a friend of mine! Hooray!! It's my Stitchy Gramma! She's not my blood Gramma but she "adopted" me as her stitchy granddaughter a while ago when she found out I got burned in an exchange. Ever since then, we've emailed each other and always wanted to meet. Well, she's coming to a city nearby with her NEW hubby and I get to meet them!! YAY!!!! T will be busy too with his friend, G who is an old colleague of his. We are going up there for the night..and coming back Tuesday..maybe..hehehehe :) So I will have pictures and stories to share on Wednesday..if you can hold out till then.

One more exciting thing is mail related. On Saturday, I went to the PO to check my mail and run some errands. Got a few catalogs and a few notes from some stitchy friends, which is always a good thing. Then there was a surprise!! I got a small package from Down Sunshine Lane that inside was a pattern that was just too perfect for me! Whomever sent it to me, knows me WAY too well! LOL I say whomever because there was no note or anything in the envelope, just the pattern. Soooo...I hope my stitchy angel comes out soon. I was thinking it might have been an early Birthday present..(Oct 17th for me)..but surely they would have sent a note along with it, right??? Come out, come out wherever you are......

Howdy blogging world! Well I've made a decision regarding my Christmas ornaments and their displays. I have decided that because none of you will be able to figure out which one is for which person, I will show them as I finish them. :) Of course that means that this blog will become a photo album for a while. LOL So you have to tell blogger to behave and stop this nonsense of not letting pictures go through. Ok?

Now to add a correction to yesterday's blog, I am not saying that I don't like Army camo. The camo that was at Walmart was very frightening! Hot pink and army green!?! Very scary to me! Just wanted to clear that up ;)

Anyhoo, here is another Binky Square for you to enjoy, minus the french knots. I have left that to the Binky square rep to do them as I cheat and use beads. Hehe...It's Sally holding a book. Only one more Peanuts character to go and that's Schroeder and his piano. Enjoy!!

Howdy do blogging world! *Whew!* Where did the time go?? Somehow in the passage of time, it is now offically Autumn and the holiday season is quickly approaching. Egads!! See what happens when you have buried yourself under papers, catalogs, mail, etc.? LOL Alright...so where to begin....Ahh yes the Quilt Shop.

A few weeks ago now I went with T to the nearby SuperWalMart. On our way there, we always pass a sign that says there is a Quilt Shop nearby. Well being that it was a Sunday and the actual idea of going to WalMart where entire families and distant relatives go shopping was less than a rush, so we stopped. It is in an old converted church building and you immediately walk in and have to pull out a tissue. Or at least I did with all the beautiful fabrics!! They were everywhere! Bolts, squares, and quilt patterns. Now I'm not a quilter, but I do use fabric to finish off my cross stitch. I am almost sure that if you made up a fabric in your head, she would have it. :) Sadly though, the downfall is that she was quite expensive! :-o I only walked out with a small square of fabric that will later be used on a Mail Art piece. $1.50 for it..and it's about 9x9. :( But if you win the lottery, her shop is the place for you! LOL After that, it was on to fight the crowds at WalMart. I only go there when I need one of two things: either cheap yarn/crafty stuff or house stuff. We needed house stuff, thus explaining the trip to which landed me my second disappointment. Not only did I go there for house stuff, I remembered my friend L was talking about yarn. So I decided to look at the yarn to which they only had very ucky colors! Now I take pride in knowing my colors, but these combinations were basically like Fruity Pebbles, Army Camo, Neon colors got washed together in a washer. YUCK! :p We managed to get all the house stuff..with the exception of Paper Towels. The "paper" aisle resembled something of a ration station..there was NOTHING!

Then this past Saturday was stitching with R. It was a lot of fun!! Of course I was secretly hoping that my JCS ornie issue would be in, but to no avail! Grrr..dern postman!! LOL But the good news is that I actually finished something!!! THis is a miracle you see as ever time I've gone stitching with R, I have never actually finished something as usually I"m too busy yacking. :) Oh don't get me wrong, we were still yacking but I actually finished something! Pizza..............

Howdy do blogging world! :) Two things first, no I don't have pictures ready yet. That is this weekends project and secondly my mood grubbing is because I'm going to have a pizza tonight! YUM! Ordering in from one of my favorite places as we are off to Mom's house for the next two days. No big deal...just I have to go get stuck..for a test..and she has an appointment..plus on Saturday is Stitching with my friend R..so it just makes sense to stay with her. No driving back and forth..hehe :) But I haven't had an ordered pizza in a while..part of my health kick..and me sometimes forgetting that the bean is gone. LOL The last pizza I had..didn't sit well with me because of that blasted bean so pardon me for being nervous! LOL Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to it! YUM! :D

Don't worry...I'll be back be soon...Sat nite with plenty of stories..and I'm sure more pictures! LOL Of course I'm taking my stitching with me...I have my Binky Squares, Happy Everything and the Quaker Heart. Plenty to keep me busy..provided her kitty will let me. He knows when I come..it's brushing time. T's Mom does it..but I do it for a long time...as he's quite fuzzy. :) Remind me to tell you about last weekend's adventure to the Quilt Shop...ok??

Howdy do blogging world! Long time no write, huh? LOL I've been very busy lately. I'm happy to report that the shoulder is all better now and even let me stitch for a good long while on Happy Everything! YAY! Pictures to come soon. Busy doing what I hear you saying...simple I have pulled out EVERY ornament pattern I own. They are scattered about to possibly make it to the selection of worthy enough to make for my Christmas Ornaments 2006 list. Haha! I've picked about half of my list and still have more to do..so until that's all done..I'll be scarce.

Like I said, next post will have pictures of an updated Happy Everything, a binky square and who knows maybe even an ornament! LOL Provided I know the recipent doesn't come on here...hehehe :)

Howdy do blogging world! Hope everyone is doing well! Glad to see so many liked my latest finishes and WIPs. No progress on the Quaker Heart today or any stitching for that matter. WHy you ask, as you sit back in shock?? LOL Sarcasm is a great thing! Well because even though the calender says SEPTEMBER, my crazy self has kicked into DECEMEBER mode. No, I don't have the Christmas tree up nor am I playing Christmas Carols, humming that's a different confession. I have been spending the past few days planning out my yearly onslaught of Christmas Ornaments. Let me explain.

Every year, despite being burned in past exchanges, I succumb to the power that is the Christmas Ornament exchange. It's very simple, you stitch a Christmas/Holiday ornament for someone and get one back from someone else. (It is supposed to work this way, sometimes it doesn't as I have yet to recieve my ornie from 3 years ago *ahem*)But despite that, I still have managed to sign up for two exchanges, each from a different board. *sigh* LOL Plus each year, I choose a charity that is accepting Christmas ornaments to raffle off for funds, and do at least one for said charity. (I haven't chosen that one yet) However on top of all those ornaments, I stitch a personalized one for each of my dear friends. *whew* LOL

So with the impending release of the JCS Christmas Ornament 2006 issue and the influx of Christmas items in the store, I have been planning out my ornament list for the year 2006. It appears that this year won't be too bad, but not with good reasons of course. The dwindle in the ornament list is often due to loss of contact with people either because they have moved on and not left traces of where they are or we just don't talk/see each other anymore. :( That's always the hard part, as in doing the Christmas List, I go through my address book which is written in pencil with an eraser. :( But a true friend has time for you...so this years recipents will just be extra special to me..not only because they are wonderful people..but because we have time for each other. :)

Oh yes..forgot recent S.E.X. (Stash Enhancing eXperience) all came via the mail this week. Items recieved were:

A few skiens of DMC Multicolors - from a wish granting

A "free" issue of JCS to look at and decide if I want a subscription

JCS Christmas Ornament Preview Issue - that came via the bookstore in hoping to find UK mags..but to no avail! :( However, I did find that! :)

So this list is made and the likes/dislikes are almost all gathered. Now onto the fun part, picking patterns! Tee hee!! I actually do have a challenge this year as one of my friends celebrates Chanakuah and I have NOTHING in the department. Hmm...reason for more S.E.X.? LOL

Ahh yes, one more thing..see my little froggie in the address bar now?? Hehe...Thanks T! :)

Updates extraordinaire!!

Howdy do blogging world! I know, you have been frantic with worry wondering where I have gone off to. No, no unexpected vacation to an exotic island. No, no one way trip to an insane asylum, though some days it feels as if I'm one step away. LOL Just a busy lady noticing that the clock has now struck Autumn and have yet to plan anything! LOL I have been stitching as I said I would be doing and now have pictures to show off. YAY!! :)

First off the gift I made for my friend L. She is in the Army and recently was deployed overseas for a while. I decided to make a little package (though it turned out being a big package) to mail her before she departed. My friend L, loves cats and things that are patriotic. I knew of the perfect pattern for her, Stars and Stripes Kitty Moon by Stitchy Kitty. I immediately went to work on it adding my own spice and flair to it, as it truly would not be a Stitch project if I didn't change something. LOL So here is what I came up with:

This is the Paw print that is part of the pattern. I turned it into a little pillow so L can tie it to her scissors, bed wherever and have a place to put her needles in. A pincushion with flair! :)

Here is the actual Kitty Moon! I turned it into a wall hanging so L could have a little slice of "home" and "friendship" in her residence. I used actually beads for the white "stars" on the stars and added the red glittery star button for flair! LOL I seem to like that word tonight. The back is covered with navy blue fabric with faint white stars. She got them the day before she departed..imagine my pins and needles until the package arrived. LOL And I'm happy to report she loves them! :)

Now for the update on the Quaker Heart that was worked on last weekend with my friend R. T was going to go to the cafe next door and work for a while, while the girls stitched but it was closed. So he hung out with us too! LOL It was great fun! But I'm almost done with the first part, there is a second half yet to be stitched. It too will be done in Antique Slate by Carrie's Threads.

And finally just some initial magnets I made for some friends as thank yous for various deeds they did for me. :)

Oh..I've also had some stash acquirement on my "hiatus" but I will talk more about that later...as it's late. Hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Super Saturday!

Howdy do blogging world! What a great day I had today! I met up with my friend R to go stitching again this morning. We try to go at least once a month just to catch up and such. There is a neat little sandwich shop next door where T usually goes to work on the puter, but today it was closed. So he hung out with us as well and we had a great time stitching and talking. LOL It was fun! She's back to teaching school so she doesn't have as much time to stitch, so she was quite appreciative of our "meetings". LOL Of course while there, I found three more things to add to my Wish List. Precious little Mill Hill Kits! I love them!!! Of course, the winter collection would have to be too cute and make me want to buy them all! :P *sigh* Such is the life of a stash-a-olic. :)

I had a good mail day too! Being that we live a good 20 minutes from my post office box, we only manage to get to empty it once a week. No worries as usually it's crammed full of stuff so it's like a mini- Christmas. Unless it's bills and then it's a bad nightmare. LOL I got my threads from Carrie's Threads so I can finish my Quaker Heart! YAY!! (update picture to come tomorrow), got a tuck pillow from an exchange I was in, and the best yet two pairs of crocheted flip flops from my friend L! LOL I had completely forgotten she was going to send them to me. It's actually a funny story as when we were chatting about the flip flops online, she was eating double chocolate swiss rolls. Normal swiss rolls have the vanilla creme in them, these were all chocolate! Now my chocolate love kicked in and I nearly had to wipe the computer screen off! LOL So when I got the package, for some reason I thought she might have sent me some of those....so I was worried with the heat..that my swiss rolls would become a big mess. Got home and it was the flip flops!! LOLOL Too funny! The heat is really messing with my mind...COME ON FALL!!

Anyhoo, operation secret project is done and in the mail. Upon it's arrival and reaction, I will share the pictures of what I made. :) Hopefully that will be tomorrow....*keeping everything crossed* But it was a good day tater! LOL

Hmm..can't think of a title...

Howdy do blogging world! Whew..what a day. First off, my mood as I know you are questioning why I have "Sly" up there. Simple. It's because I am working on a secret project for a dear friend..and well just feel sneaky. Hehe..I can't talk about it or show it..so I feel like a Sly fox, cunning with secrecy yet eager to spill the beans. LOL Anyhoo, back to the day. Today was a pretty interesting day as I have learned that beading needles made by the company DMC are useless!!! I broke THREE of them trying to add beads to my secret project! Also, I appear to live in a town that eventhough we have a bead store, for some reason they don't sell beading needles! *Puzzled looks* Yes, you are exactly right...we have two craft shops (major chains) and a bead store which none of them sell beading needles! I too stand in shock! So I had to ask T's co-worker to save my tush and grab some for me on her way home from work. Tomorrow they will arrive home and I will be able to finish part one of my two part secret project! Bwhahwahahahahahaha!! *lightening and thunder*

Secondly, I'm sure you noticed the change in my blog. Yes, it is supposed to be Autumnal. :) I am aware that the calendar says it's still summer but in my mind's eye, the kiddies have gone back to school, so Autumn is upon us. Now to just sit and wait for the leaves to change..and cooler weather. Yay!

Lastly, a few pictures to show. Yes, I did say pictures..which means finishes. *THUD* Haha..very funny. :P Anyhoo, the first picture is of some K magnets I made for some friends. One is using Calypso by Needle Necessities and the other is using an Anchor varigated thread. I think they turned out pretty nice myself. Now just need to send them to their home..hehe. The second picture is a Binky Square of Snoopy hugging Woodstock. I had finished that one a while ago, but for some reason just never uploaded the picture. LOL Hey, I'm lucky if I remember my name sometimes.

A Wrappin I will Do......and the SBQ

Hello all my blogging friends! Now I know you are sitting there going, hmm...how does she feel "minty"? I feel minty as I just ate a peppermint and since I"m not exactly sure what the emotion means, I figured that was a good explanation. LOL It works! Anyhoo, another quite weekend after a busy week. The week was full of chores; laundry, cleaning house, getting mail together...that sort of stuff. Bah! :P House cleaning should be banned...well maybe not banned as that would be scary. Hmm...how about a requirement that ALL houses in the US have a maid! There that's better! LOL :)

So this weekend was quiet. I went out with T yesterday to run a few errands. A trip to the post office, grocery store..stuff like that. I did get a few surprises in the mail on Saturday. YAY! I got my order from 123stitch and a surprise from my friend L. :) From 123 stitch, I bought with a GC I had recieved for some stash I sold. I got these:
TheCrabIsIn and SnowyDaySnowman. Whoo hoo! New Stash! I had to sit on my hands not to start The Crab is In. Though with it being smaller than I thought, he will be done soon! :) From my friend L, she sent me some beads she found for me and a scissor fob she wishes for me to repair. So I will get that back out to her this week with a few surprises....*evil grin*

Other than that, I have spent this weekend wrappin floss! Ugh...the only montonous part of stitching..wrapping floss around bobbins and putting them in plastic containers! ZZZzzzzzzzz.....LOL But it's needed to be done for a while, so I decided to start with the DMC Variagated threads to wrap and now of course I need another plastic container..LOL Oops..didn' realize I had that much. LOL Oh and my mojo did come back! YAY!! I stitched up some "K" intial magnets for a few friends...(pictures to come once I put batteries in the camera) LOL

So that was pretty much it. Nothing too exciting....but progress nevertheless. Hehe..I close with this weeks SBQ: (the link seems to be down..sorry :( )

For those of you who use hand or over-dyed floss, how do you store it?

Well given that I've been doing that project this weekend, storing my overdyes, I'll say that I store them on bobbins placed in plastic containers.

Howdy do blogging world! It seems as if I'm up to torture myself today. Why and how you ask? Nope, not at all. But that's not a bad thing. I wanted to be living in NYC or Cali with a house full of roomates, galvanting all over the world as we preformed musicals and plays. Nary a care in the world. If I wasn't that, the other dream was to be married with my white picket fence house and maybe an adopted child. Those were my dreams 10 years ago. However, life dealt me a different hand because I guess someone had better plans for me than I had for myself. I'm pretty much happy where I am now, I just wish to go back to school and finish. I can't complain though that things are different then where I thought they would be, as all the events that took place in those 10 years not only challenged me, but help make me who I am today. :)

Ok...I need to go stitch now...so I can get thoughts of being OLD out of my head!!! I'll get you Try for this one luv!!!! Bwwhahahahahahaha!!!

Hmmmmm.........I wonder

Howdy do blogging world! Hmm...I am beginning to wonder a few things. First, I wonder what has happened to all my friends and comments on this blog. It seems as both have disappeared. *sigh* I hope the heat has not caused my readers to melt away, though I do understand if your chairs are leather and your house has no AC. I understand this in that your chair in front of the puter is probably hot and the idea of sitting down and risking 2nd degree burn isn't appealing. So to the leather chair homes with no AC, you are excused, but the rest of yas. *shakes finger* Where have you gone?? My email inbox has been empty...and I've been sending out emails. Do I need to call the gremlin service again and tell them to stop muching on gmail??? Come out, come out where ever you are!!! *looks under a rock* Peek-a boo.

Second thing is I am wondering if I do not need serious pyschological evaluation. Reason is this, it is HOT! Temps in the 90s and humidity levels in the don't worry about taking a shower as you will be sweating within a moments notice level and yet I am craving starting a Christmas ornament! It is not possible to think of snow, sleigh bells, Christmas in general when you are thinking that if you lie around naked to cool off, is it really worth scaring the neighbors to be cool? But yet, here I sit, clothed mind you, thinking about starting up a Christmas ornament. A San Man Originals one or something simple..that can be easily done with pretty threads..as my readers know..I NEVER stick to a pattern. :) Might actually have to look into doing one....I have an idea on a project.

Lastly,..well I'm not wondering three things but I just remember my English teacher barking at me..if you have two things in a list..you need to have three!! So....I guess I could make up one...Ummmm....I wonder if tonight while looking up at the stars, I will see a purple dragon come flying out of the back of a comet??? Umm...yeah...I need help! LOL

Howdy do! Ok..two things..where the heck did July go..and who is the idiot that keeps playing with the thermometer!?!?! No offense to Madame Mother Nature, but she needs to get control of her "heat making machine". Good grief! Screw frying an egg on the street...you could do a four course breakfast: eggs, toast, bacon and hashbrowns! Oy vey!! Of course I have begun to realize that in a few months I will be "noticing" how cold it is and how certain body parts like fingers, toes and noses have will have lost their feeling. LOL So I guess it's all good in the end...hehe

Now on to the second part...July! ZOOM! There it went! Sheesh...I remember how summer seemed to last forever when I was younger...*Warning flash backs ahead*...swimming at the pool and flirting with the boys...catching fireflies in a coffee can for light through the night....barbecues...*sigh* Running in the grass barefoot till your Mom called you in...not noticing that it didn't get dark till 10pm. Sheesh..now it's GONE! It's August...the end of the summer is very near. Soon it will be time to fret about the C word....pile up leaves and take a flying leap in them....flop down in the snow and make snow angels...Ahhh...Yay! (In case you can't tell..I've never grown up..hehe)

Howdy do blogging world! About my "mood", I'm not feeling catty in the sense of the words actual meaning, but rather just liked the kitty kat. :) Where did the week go?? I can't believe it's already Thursday! ACK!! Anyhoo, didn't do too much today. It was a lazy day....put a few more stitches in the Quaker Heart. Here's to tomorrow..maybe it will be more productive. LOL :)

I am a stitcher in need when it comes to scissors. I do not own any fancy embroidery type scissors at all. :( I rely on my maincure scissors bought in a kit for a dollar. I have a few other pairs of scissors that aren't dedicated to stitching, but they are there in case I can't find my manicure ones. LOL

Reward!!

Howdy do blogging world! Whoo hoo!! What a difference a couple of days make. LOL I'm happy to report that both my mojo and my brain power have come back to me! YAY!! So a reward shall be offered to whom gave it back to me..:) I've been quite accomplished the last few days. Getting mail together for the weekly trek to the post office, nearly cleaned out all my inbox in my email, even started a new quickie project! Whooo hooo!! So needless to say, I've actually done something. LOL Amazing isn't it??

Now on to the project. It is the Quaker Heart cushion on this page: Quaker Heart (You'll have to scroll down the page to see the picture of it). It's a freebie..so I'm enabling you as well! Evil stitcher that I am....This project has been different for me though in the sense of order. What? You are asking. Well, normally when I choose something to cross stitch I pick the pattern first and then the threads next. This time the thread talked to me first and then the pattern. I am using Carries Threads Antique Slate and here's the pretty picture of what's done so far:

A Case of the Mondays.....

Howdy do blogging world! Tis Space cadet Stitch here...why the space cadet? Simple..I like so many of my friends as of late..have no mental brain power. NONE! I'm starting to feel like those powerless people in Cali...everytime something good gets going on...someone comes and shuts off my light. *sigh* I have a thought..or an idea...and POOF be gone it goes....it's probably due to lack of sleep or the heat...or I'm just confirming what I've thought all along..I'm losing my mind!!! LOL

Anyhoo, this weekend was well a weekend. We didn't go anywhere..or didn't do much. Once again the mojo has left...as every time I've picked up something to stitch...like the power in my brain...it goes away. I did manage to go through the old stash again and add some more items to my stash for sale. YAY! More of the..what the heck were you thinking when you bought THAT..stash. However, that doesn't mean just because I admit to temporary insanity upon buying that item, that someone out there won't love it. :) One can only hope....if you would like to see the link..just let me know. :)

Well shoot...happened again! Had a thought..and there it went...like the cheap gas prices...GONE! LOL I guess that's my cue to depart...I must not overload the system and risk a complete blackout. Not in a physical sense, just merely not being able to cut the old brain back on to thinking for a while...LOL Good thing you don't have to think to breathe and such...I'd be in trouble.

So here's to getting the power cut back on..and the mojo returned! :)

The Celebrated Sticky Frog

Howdy do blogging world! Hope all of you are finding some ways to keep cool as it's sweltering this summer. I am glad to report that we have had some rain so it's a bit cooler here...but feels sticky due to said rain. Ah well....can't please everyone. :)

Now, I am sure you are sitting there wondering have I really lost my mind as I'm celebrating a frog. Being a stitcher, that word "celebrate" should be no where near the dreaded word "frog". I recognize that but this frog deserves celebration...for you see he is bravely sticking to my friend's ceiling...huh?? Wait a minute? Let me backtrack...

I told you all that I went to my friend's house over the weekend to stitch and gab with her. Well, when T and I arrived on Friday afternoon my friend handed T this sticky frog. It is a small plastic frog that has sticky stuff on it to stick to windows, walls..etc. She tried valiantly to get it up there herself but T had to take over. He threw the frog up on the ceiling where to this day it remains clinging on for dear life. We had originally thought the frog would fall down on T's head as we were getting ready to head back home on Monday. Sort of a final parting shot of and just where do you think YOU are going? However, that did not happen. My friend's 6 year old grand-daughter is obsessed with this frog and has made it her life's ambition to get him down. She failed as well. So...somewhere at the beach..sits a small green frog, clinging to a white ceiling, daring anyone to mess with him. I have taken it as a symbol. A symbol of revenge for us stitchers...a warning if you will...to all frogs everywhere....be wary coming to our house...for we might throw you on the ceiling..and leave you there....bwhahahahahahahahaha!!!

So let us take a moment and celebrate this one frog! Hooray!! He's been up there for nearly a week now..and there is no sign of him tiring. I applaud you, dear frog, and hope that when you finally make your descent back to the world, you do so discreetly and not fall on someone's head, for I am sure..that I will hear the screams all the way up here! :)

Howdy do blogging world!! Remember me...I have since calmed down from my ranting about ageism...and I'm feeling better. Though I do have to ask, did the angels in heaven leave the sauna door open??? Good heavens is it HOT out there!!!! It is hitting 100 degree mark here in my neck of the woods...Ugh!! Good weather to stitch and stay INDOORS! :) I do hope my blogging friends are finding ways to stay cool...water, popsicles, sitting in a meat freezer naked....

But anyhoo, the lapse....where have I been??? It has been a while since I've blogged. Well I was away at the beach visiting two very dear friends of mine! I had an absolute blast with them!! We went "thrifting", known as hitting thrift stores for craft supplies and goodies. :) We went to AC Moore where I continued to add on to my DMC thread collection..( as I have YET to own the entire collection )....where I grabbed all the 900 numbers...up to 950 I believe. I stuffed myself silly with things like Blueberry Cobbler, Roasted Chicken, Stuffed Shells...to the point that I KNOW I've gained at least 5lbs of the weight I had lost! LOL Kidding....it was sooooo good tho!!! :) It was just a glorious four days! Of course there was plenty of stitching.......at least on my part. LOL But I wish to thank my hostesses, Simchah and Libby...my sisters now! Thank you for making me so welcome..and adopting me as your own! :)

Update on Happy Everything as of today:

Now for my hostess gifts that I made. Each one was a wooden hinged box that I painted blue. I then glued batting to the top and formed the pattern I had stitched over it..to resemble a pin cushion. Then to finish off the edges, they were lined with blue velvet ribbon and inside were stitchy treasures. Hehe..They both loved them!! :)

Age and accountability.....

Dedicated to Two people who DO their jobs!

There is no easy way to jump in to this. No funny quote or quip..so I'm just going for it. What is age?? To me, age is just a number..a mere symbol of how many years a person has inhabited the Earth. I am in my 20s..so I have existed for 20 some years...that's all my age means. However, to some it is regarded more than just a symbol of life. To some it seems to be a badge of honor to boast about proudly to us "younger" folks. A mere statement to throw in our faces as to say, I've been here longer..so you don't count. You have no where near the experience that I do..and for that..you are less of a value in my life. To them, I say this...just because in your "aged" mind..you see us young folks as not experienced as you.....keep this in mind..we, the young folks..are the ones that get to decide where to put you as you grow older....and it might not be a good idea to piss us off!!! :) For we, hold the power to where you spend your aged years...and we don't forget things like you do. Just because you are older..and supposedly "wiser", though in some circumstances that is up for debate...does not hold you ANY less accountable for the things you do. Your age is merely just that...a number....it just so happens that yours is much LARGER than ours. So take your badge..that you so proudly boast..and stick it where the sun don't shine..for in the end...we hold the power to your future...

Disclaimer: This is not meant to offend anyone..as I'm sure it will someone out there. It is just merely a statement of support..for two people...young folks..who work their tails off and got trampled..simply because their number wasn't as large.

Howdy do blogging world...*sigh* What a few couple of days huh?? *whew* Between having all the excitement of the weekend..the fireworks, the food, etc...to finding out we are getting shot at it...to my other team losing in the World Cup...what a few couple of days. Bah!! First off, getting shot at...I'm refering to the NK suddenly deciding that it needs to recreate the Wright Brothers experiement..only this time with something that could blow out entire countries! I am not one to discuss politics...as they always end up in fights..but sheesh!!! I'm not running under the ground yet..but it is a bit unerving to say the least...I just don't get it. Do people that make these sorts of "defense mechanisms" HONESTLY believe that if they shoot one off into the world..that the reprecussions ( the nuclear gas, etc..not other countries) will not effect them eventually?? What...when did the wind stop blowing?? I didn't get that memo....

Secondly...Portugal is out! *sniff sniff* It is offical..EVERY team that I rooted for...has lost. I stood by my US team..only to realize they didn't get the memo to actually PLAY the damn game! I stood by the Aussies...for my stitchy gramma who is soon to marry and become an Aussie. I stood by Portugal..eventhough they beat the beloved English team...(sorry not a fan of Beckham)..and was rooting for them till the bitter end. *sigh* All that rooting to be decided by a lousy penalty kick..0-1 against France..BAH!! I say! So sadly all my teams are out..much like my goal of completing the four squares I wanted to. I'll be happy to just finish this blasted Koala...*mumbles under breath*...

Finally...there is some good news. I have been continuing to work on Happy Everything..and will post a progress picture soon. I promise. I have about a bajillion things to do..and well...no energy or willpower to do them. Isn't that always the case?? LOL So I will get on it soon...

Now onto this weeks SBQ:

What is the biggest mishap you have had with your stitching material (i.e. spillages)?

Well I *luckily* have not had any spillages on my work. (Knock on wood) The worst mishap I had was I had just finished a piece from San Man called "Happy". It was just the word..in big bubble letters..and I had stitched it using WDW Celebration. Sort of to create a neat effect...oh boy..just wait. Anyhoo, I had managed to get a small pencil mark on the fabric and decided to wash it out. A little background on this design..it was designed to be in bright SSS colors with peace signs, stars..and smiley faces...very 60ish. ;) Well upon washing it out...the colors ran everywhere! They did not bleed completely through the fabric..but created more of a halo around theh letters...thus looking tie-dyed. I showed it to a few stitchy friends..and expecting them to laugh..or tsk tsk..they instead asked me how I did that as they wanted to tie-dye a project of their own! LOL If I find the piece..I'll take a picture of it..and show it to you. ;)

Well..I'm off for a few days again...diving headfirst into some serious stitching...so I'm still here...just finishing that blasted Koala..and a few gifts. Have a good day all!

Howdy do blogging world! Another Monday is upon us..but it's not been any ordinary Monday as T has been home. He has a four day weekend this weekend! YAY! So we've been spending time together, playing some video games and just being. It's been very nice! We did errands on Saturday where I mailed out a beaucoup of things...and had to deal with a not so intelligent postal worker. Ugh..I was telling her how to mail things off as she had no clue!!! Then went off to the bank after that to run into yet another person who didn't know what she was doing. Needless to say, we were very glad to get home! :)

Sunday was a nice day too! We both slept in a bit and then ventured out to get the paper. We always do this because for some reason our paper company WILL NOT deliever 3 miles down the road!!! It's insane! They'll hit the store near our house..but will not drive down the road a bit to drop it off at our house. They claim " we aren't on the main road" puleease!!! :P If you came to our neighborhood, you'd have some great buisness as I'm sure a lot of our neighbors would love your paper too. Just a suggestion....

So it was a nice weekend! :) The best part it's not over yet! Hehehehe...I even picked up some stitching..*gasp* Yes yes..check the weather for snow...going to be a blizzard too as it was Happy Everything that I stitched on!! *mouth falls open* Try not to look too shocked..;) I'll post a pic of it soon!

Howdy do blogging world! Tis Friday! Yeehaw!!! The yellow blob has decided to hang out for the whole weekend..of course his bratty punk of a child heat is here too..but I don't care as long as the yellow blob stays. :) Busy day today!! For the past two days, I have cleaned the bathroom (ugh) did some laundry, baked some cupcakes (that I hear made certain people seize with delight while consuming...), gone to the grocery store and written some letters. (Notice how stitching was not a happy member of that a family) So needless to say, I've been busy! HAha! It's great! Of course in doing all of those things, my stitching has once again resumed to calling out to me in my sleep. It's quite odd actually to have a lovely dream of walking in a museum with some hunk of a man..(T of course ;) ) and to notice that all the pictures are your WIPs! ACK! Do not encourage me to go to therapy as I'm sure the shrink wouldn't even believe that story. :P

Thus brings up the four day weekend. T is home...and we have plans. Do any of these include stitching? Ha..no. Reading, writing, stuffing our faces...spending time together...but no plans of picking up the needle. *sigh* So once again it will call out to me while I sleep....*Roger Rabbit Voice*...Prreeettyy Preeease...stitch me...

But enough of my babbling about my lack of stitching..it's Friday! Whoo hoo!! Time once again for everyone's favorite schedule activity....the late SBQ of the week...as I'm never on time..so enjoy!

What do you do with your charts once you’ve stitched them? Do you keep them or dispose of them? If you keep them, do you organize them in a way that is different from the way you keep your unstitched charts?

Actually finish stitching an entire chart??? Is that what the main object of cross stitching is??? Ohhhhhhhhh....:) But seriously, to those that "dispose" or get rid of charts after having stitched them ONCE...please in the comment section leave your name and address as I would like to raid your house!!! *gasp* I can't believe people actually do that...the ONLY stitching that I have gotten rid of are those patterns that at the time I adored..and now think..what the hell were you thinking?? As for keeping my charts, they are all the same..mashed together in some sort of organized chaos in an accordian file thingy. (I say thingy as I don't know the actual term of the..well thingy) But I retort to my original statement....you are actually supposed to FINISH something????? ;)

What is this big yellow blob????

Howdy do blogging world! First off let me welcome my new members to my blog. Welcome! Feel free to just jump right in and stay as long as you like. :) Now the title..yes..that big yellow blob came out today. *angels sing* I had forgotten what it looked like as I hadn't seen it in so long. Good thing I remember that looking directly into the sun for an extensive amount of time can turn your eyeballs to mush..haha. It was nice though to see his smiling face and hopefully he'll stick around for a little while. Though he can keep his little bratty punk of a child, the heat, at home. :P I don't need much more of him.

Anyhoo, haven't done much in the way of stitching. I know I know...only a few more weeks till the SWC is over...yadda yadda...and I haven't finished one..blah blah...I hear you!! :) I wish those little voices in my head would take a vacation sometimes..;) However, that is what four day weekends are for. I have one coming up this weekend! YAY!! T is off from work..so we will be hanging out and just being. LOL It's our nation's Independence day on Tuesday, July 4th. Wonder if our forfathers would be proud of what we've become?? Hmmm....

So no mail on Tuesday..bah! Not that I get any anyway..:( Oh sure, I get plenty of people I've never heard of begging me for money....who the heck is Master Card anyway and why did his poor mother curse him with that name???? ;) Maybe I'll take some of my four day weekend and write some letters...snail mail style. Guess that's the only way I'm going to get happy mail..is to send some. LOL

Payment a bag of M&Ms.....

Greetings from soggy and wet my neck of the woods! Mother Nature is a very funny character. I believe now that if you constantly complain about how she's running things, like a woman she will unleash her wrath on you. Thus explains the three days+ of straight rain we have gotten. Mainly due to the foolish idiots, mostly male, prediciting the weather at the local weather stations. They have been griping non stop about the lack of 2 or three inches of rain in their precious little guages for months now. No offense, I'll go sweat a couple of inches in that cup for you!! :p Anyhoo, their griping must have reached Mother Nature's ears and she's tired of it, thus launching a rain storm without end. Not that I mind the rain as it's quite peaceful and calming, but day after...ooo wait..I better not complain or the East Coast will turn into the Sahara Desert...

Anyhoo, I'm going out tonight..for a burger. T's treat! :) I don't crave red meat often but when I do, it's like a leech; it won't go away until red meat is sitting in my stomach. :) Yay!! Of course my other craving is M&Ms. Peanut, plain...doesn't matter. THose little globes of chocolately goodness are my weakness! Much like a gold card and a stitcher having carte blanche of an LNS. Dangerous combo! :) So since you have read this blog..that is your payment. Since I entertain you for a miniumum of 5 minutes..I feel I deserve a small reward. :) Send your bags of yummy M&Ms to.....

Gosh...why can't those little places where you stick floppys and disk not have the ability to spit out things?? Say like..M&Ms.....

What a difference a day makes....

Howdy do blogging world! See, good sign, the exclamation point is back. LOL :) Well like I always say, one bad day eventually means a good day will come along. Since that bad day was yesterday, today was a good day! :) The weather was not too bad, nice and thunderstormy. Now I know what you are saying, how on Earth could thunderstorms be a good thing?? Well, these had a rhythm to them that just kept you pressing on through the day. Since today was Sunday, it was our lazy day; meaning the only time we went out was to get a Sunday newspaper as they wont' deliever out here in the boonies. LOL But it was just a nice relaxing day mentally and physically, so I pulled out the dreaded Koala Bear and worked on him a bit. So here is the latest update..almost all of his face is done..(he needs his eyes) and the neck part is left. Then he's DONE! Whoo hooo!!!

Frog..for sale DIRT CHEAP!!!

Howdy do blogging world. No exclaimation point tonight as I'm not in the mood. I HATE FROGS!!! Not the animal as I don't want PETA on my rear, but the FROGS that plague us stitchers. There I was happily stitching on the Koala Square while watching a movie. Well sort of watching a movie. It was on Comedy Central and was one of those that you don't have to watch the picture to get the jist of the movie. :) So I'm trucking along on the Koala bear actually beginning to see some progress when it happened! I was completing a row when I realized a stitch that I needed to put down was already there in a different color! Grrrrrr......*insert a bunch of not nice words and a pencil being thrown up against the wall* Well I didnt' really throw the pencil but definately felt like it. I had been stitching for TWO hours and spent the next 45 mintues picking out most of what I had just stitched due to being off ONE WHOLE ROW!!! Grrrrr.....so if anyone wants a FROG, help yourself because he needs to get the heck out of my house! :p

As if that isn't annoying enough, the infamous Miss Virginia Pageant is on. I am not complaining about pageants as to each his own. However, they hire a team of tone deaf/unable to keep rhythm singers and dancers to "preform and entertain" the audience between clothes changes. I am not an extremely educated person in music, meaning I don't have a degree in it, but anything that makes me want to hurl my tv out the window..is BAD. Not to mention, these are considered "professionals" and well I would think a professional in the entertainment industry could come up with new material. It does appear that they use different songs but the same dance moves. UGH! It's just annoying!!! Bah!! Some people just have been told they have "talent" a bit too much and they don't. I'm sure they are wonderful people in real life..but the talent fairy did not bless them.

Ok...rant over. I need chocolate....

A finish and an update....

Howdy do blogging world!! Short but sweet blog tonight as I'm on the way out to the store to get salad stuff. It seems like we live at the grocery store sometimes..LOL. :) Anyhoo, here is my finish of Oh Canada freebie. It is done on 14ct white aida with Varigated DMC Red and 712 for the words. It will be finished into a pillow at a later date and jet it's way off to my friend in Canada. :)

The other is my sad update on the Koala Square. Much like the US Team, it hasn't gone very far at all..but unlike the US team, every little bit helps. Haha...I am beginning to think I set my goal too high..tho I'll be satisfied if I get TWO squares done. LOL Enjoy!!

So after a quick trip to the store..and a soak in the tub ( weather permitting ), it will be down to settle with my stitching. I have yet to work on Happy Everything for the month..so I need to pick that up soon. Sorry L, I was just so into finishing Oh Canada...:( *Hugs* Gmail is your FRIEND :)

Simple answer. Nope. The closest I have gotten to those things is seen a couple of my fellow stitchers use them..and it was interesting. :)

Howdy do blogging world! Hope all of you have found a nice shady place to escape to if you are outside or have cuddled up next to the AC if you are inside. Here in my little part of the world it's HOT!! That's H as in Humid, O as in Overbearing and T as in Temprature! (Thanks to T for that acronym! He really misses the game Acrophobia :( ) It's in the 90s here, that's mid 30s for the metrically inclined, and summer isn't even here yet. It doesn't arrive till June 21st (Wed)! Ugh!! :p So it will be staying indoors and drinking lots of water and fluids for us today. I should get in some great stitching time! :) Plus making a cool, yummy pasta salad for lunch for the week..as I HATE heating up the stove if at all possible. So stay cool everyone!! :)

I had a great day yesterday though! Once again the temprature gauge was high, but that didn't matter as I was stitching. Not at home mind you, with my girlfriend R. I hadn't met with her since January!! I couldn't believe it had been that long. LOL We live about 20 minutes from each other, but haven't seen each other in six months. We had tried to have our monthly stitch-in, but with one issue or the other, we have been unable to make it. We convened at the LNS Saturday mid morning. The odd thing is that usually I'm the one that's late, but yesterday she was. LOL

T went to the sandwich shop nearby to work on some projects for the office. We spent a good two hours catching up the news and sharing our projects. I didn't bring my SWC project, I brought the gift I am working on and have nearly finished. :) Yay! She was working on the new Libery freebie from GloryBee. It was about 1pm when I went to get T and he came back in the LNS with us. The store owner and R went to get lunch from the sandwich shop and brought it back. We all hung out ( T included ) for a few more minutes just to gab. :) It was great fun!!! After that, it was time for stash shopping. R picked up a new pillow kit that was patriotic, but I didn't get a good look at it, and the matching threads to stitch it. Knowing R, Mrs. Speed Stitcher, she'll have that stitched up in a jiffy! LOL I on the otherhand, who normally shy away from getting new stash as I have boatloads already, was there to pick up a pattern that I had specially ordered. Hehehe... :)

This pattern was being stitched on by a new friend of mine Libratsie as Sue's house on Memorial Day. Since everyone was busy stitching when I arrived at Sue's house, I took a moment to gander at everyone's projects and fell in love with hers! There are few patterns that are designed to fit my every whim what I call the Three C's of Me. They are comical, colorful and creative! Nice touch huh?? LOL So as soon as I got home from Sue's, I emailed my LNS and asked her to order it for me. T agreed that the pattern is ALL ME!! :) It's from Ruby Slipper Designs: and tell me those that know me, is this not perfect for me??? LOLOLOL

I love it! OF course though, there will be color changes! It is ME after all, Miss I never stick to an orignal pattern and throw my own twist to it. :) I, also, have some impending stash coming from San Man Originals due to a gift certifcate that was payment from a lady who was buying some of my stash for sale. She is overseas and has difficulty getting a US Money Order, so we settled on getting a GC for the payment. :) Hopefully, I'll get it soon. :)

Well back to taking it easy today! Too hot to do much else. :P I might be off the computer for a few days as I really need to work on my SWC project and have to banish myself from the puter. If I don't, nothing will get done as I'll be on this thing! LOL So stay cool! If you need me, tryy the email addy! :)
